Our team of amazing people, Running For Rush, is taking part in the Palm Beach Races this December to honor the families of children gone too soon and the life of our son Rush. I want to first thank the wonderful runners taking part in this race as a part of our team, to the folks fundraising for a cause we are so passionate about, and to those that donate their money to help us grow our cause! We couldn?t do this without any of you!

Every family deserves a place to turn when the unthinkable happens.

When a baby or child dies, a family?s world changes forever. Yet in the midst of unimaginable grief, many parents are left wondering where to turn, who understands, and how to navigate life after loss.

We know this because we have lived it.

Our son, Rush Lee Auer, was just seven months old when we lost him unexpectedly in December 21st, 2022 to acute respiratory failure. In the days, months, and years that followed, we learned just how deeply important it is for grieving families to have people who understand their loss and are willing to simply walk beside them.

From our love for Rush came Rush?s Rainbows, an organization created to support families experiencing the loss of a baby or child through compassion, education, connection, and remembrance.

Every December since Rush passed, we like to do something to honor his life. The Palm Beach races happened to fall a few weeks before his angelversary and we felt like it is the perfect way to raise awareness and honor his life.

We are running for Rush because his life matters.

We are running for every baby and child whose life was too short.

And we are running for the parents who will carry their love forever.

Our Big Plan

With your help, we want to grow Rush?s Rainbows into a stronger source of support for families experiencing pregnancy, infant, and child loss.

Funds raised through our campaign, Running for Rush, will help us:

? Start peer support groups for bereaved parents, providing a safe place to connect with others who understand the unique experience of child loss.

? Create grief and loss toolkits filled with practical resources and guidance for families navigating those first devastating days, weeks, and months.

? Provide bereavement resources to hospitals, including care baskets, grief materials, books, and tangible support for families following a loss.

? Build partnerships with hospitals and community organizations so families can find compassionate and knowledgeable support close to home.

? Expand grief education and advocacy to help families, medical professionals, caregivers, and communities better understand how to support those experiencing loss.

? Create safe spaces for remembrance and healing where families can share their stories, honor their children, and know that their babies and children will never be forgotten.
