On July 10th, Nolan was diagnosed with a genetic disorder called POLG. This disorder falls under the umbrella of a Mitochondrial Disease which is very rare, has no cure, and is fatal for most individuals. Because of its rarity, there is not much research or knowledge which leads to a lot of frustration and unknown on what Nolan?s life will look like. Over the next few years, and most likely the rest of his life, he will constantly be seeing almost every specialist under the sun in order to get testing and evaluations done for every organ in his body. This will hopefully help us track the progression of his disorder. Even though there is currently no cure, we are hoping his team of doctors can find treatments to help him live as long of a life as possible. ?
