For those of you that don't know his story: Maddox came into one of our GA shelter partners in November 2020. He was about 6-8 weeks old. His front legs were deformed and he could not walk ?. After an exam, x-rays and a visit with our orthopedic specialist, it was found that both of his elbows were luxating and out of their joints. There was no surgery that could be done at the time because he was so small. Our medical team felt that the best option was to start PT ASAP to keep his elbows loose & to strengthen his muscles. We were told that in the future it may be an option to fuse his elbows when he is bigger or alternatively to get him a cart. So, Maddox made the trip to NY, was placed with a local foster and began physical therapy 1-3 DAYS a week. After more than 6 months of PT, the surgeons have told us that Maddox has made such amazing progress that surgery is an option! This news has us over the moon! All of Maddox's hard work, and YOUR donations to his PT, have paid off! Now we are faced with the extremely expensive elbow arthrodesis surgery. So, in an effort to raise the funds needed for Maddox to take the next step in his journey to walking we are launching this t-shirt campaign.
