Meet Maple, our beautiful KuneKune pig, who deserves to be known for so much more than what society has traditionally viewed pigs as.
Maple is an individual with her own personality, feelings, intelligence, and relationships. She enjoys her life, forms bonds, recognizes familiar people, and deserves to live in safety, surrounded by love and care. She isn?t a product, a commodity, or a meal. She is someone, not something. ?
The Friends, Not Food campaign is about changing the way we see pigs. Pigs are intelligent, social, emotional animals capable of forming deep bonds with one another and with humans. They experience fear, comfort, happiness, and trust. They deserve the opportunity to live their lives without being valued by what they can provide to us.
KuneKune pigs are often known for their friendly personalities, grazing habits, and charming appearance. But regardless of breed, size, or purpose, every pig is an individual who deserves compassion.
At Field of Snouts Farm Sanctuary, we believe pigs deserve the same kindness, protection, and consideration we give to the animals we welcome into our homes as companions. Maple is a reminder that when we take the time to know a pig, we begin to see the individual behind the label.
? Maple is a friend. Maple is family. Maple matters.
Our hope is that Maple?s story encourages others to look at pigs differently, question old assumptions, and choose compassion.
Because every snout deserves a chance to live, to feel safe, and to be loved.
? Friends, Not Food. Choose compassion. Choose kindness. Choose life.
