Since 2001, the Waywiser Press?founded in England by Philip Hoy?has been publishing striking and intelligent books, with a reputation for identifying overlooked masterpieces and championing poetry that is simultaneously innovative and formally adept. With his retirement at the end of 2025, Hoy handed the press? mission and the Hecht Prize catalogue over to Waywiser Books, a nonprofit successor based in the United States.

Our editorial team is working diligently to establish Waywiser Books?essentially a new press with a rich legacy. Every single donation and purchase helps! Your purchase of Waywiser merch directly supports our ability to fund new publications, pay our managing editor, cover our administrative costs, and grow into the robust press we envision becoming. Thank you so much for your interest in this small, passionate poetry press!
